Eco Floating Hotel
The eco-floating hotel is inspired by the sea with which it is associated in the first degree in terms of form and design principle. At this point, it is worth to mention that the project will work efficiently in areas where there is a continuous and certain flow. However, the sea which gives the structure physical and tangible power and receives the return it needs in a mutualistic form also directs the shape of the structure with the idea of the vortex. If it is accepted that the water formed and disappeared by itself forming a rotation around itself in a regular flow and the shape is considered to have risen with its borders and evolved into a platform, it will give a transparent mass silhouette. It was this image that fed and supported the project. The idea of the vortex, which reflects the rotational effect found on the surface of the water to the upper cover of the structure does not only remain in this layer and seeps into the mass with a capillary effect.
Hayri Atak is an architect, designer and instructor who conducts his works in several different scales such as environment, city, building and industrial design. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University department of Interior Architecture and studied architecture in Auburn University in part of his undergraduate education. He had the opportunity to participate in various workshops at Rural Studio. Afterwards, he completed his master’s degree in Istanbul Technic al University “Facade Design and Technology” and then completed his “Hotel Design in Interior Architecture” education at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NA BA). In addition, he was awarded numerous awards in many competitions he participated in during his student period and professional business life. Hayri Atak who carries out workshops with different concepts in universities also participates in various courses as a guest lecturer and teaches at ma n y different universities such as ITU, IMU, F SMVU. In addition to the afore mentioned workshop s he takes p art as a jury member in many national and international competitions. He adopts concepts such as futurism and informatics in architecture and stands out with his modular and organic formed works in line with these sense of design. He closely follows many topic s such as parametric design, prototyping techniques, robotic s in architecture and continues on his works with Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio(HAADS).
